The future is Black and bright.

Rising together.

Braids fresh, spirit fresh.

Deep roots, strong branches.

Edges laid, crown ready.

My hair tells a story.

Proud of every shade of me.

Proud of my melanin, all year.

Honouring those who came before us.

Black mom magic.

Culture on my shoulders, joy in my heart.

Crown on, curls out.

Brown skin, golden heart.

Black family, strong family.

Kings and queens, all of us.

Graduating for everyone who couldn't.
