Proud of where we come from.

Crown on, curls out.

Proud of my melanin, all year.

Melanin glowing.

The future is Black and bright.

Words of our elders, dreams of our children.

Grateful for the shoulders I stand on.

Braids fresh, spirit fresh.

Black and blessed.

Soul food and soul sisters.

Walking in my purpose.

Honouring those who came before us.

Sunday best, Sunday service, Sunday dinner.

Our ancestors' wildest dreams.

Rooted in history, reaching for the future.

Black creatives, keep creating.
